Program Details

Personal Training

Personalized workout plans are tailored to your individual goals and fitness level by a NASM-certified trainer. These plans are designed to be adaptable to various outdoor environments, ensuring you build the strength and endurance needed for your adventures.

Nutrition Coaching

Receive a custom nutrition plan that aligns with your outdoor activity goals. Our coaching emphasizes sustainable and practical eating habits that support your active lifestyle, helping you fuel your body for peak performance. We focus on identifying your specific macros and caloric needs to take the guesswork out of eating.

Wilderness Skills

You'll receive access to our online Wilderness Skills course that is designed to build a solid foundation in outdoor and survival training. It's designed to "drip" lessons to you every week so that the information isn't overwhelming and your schedule isn't bogged down either. There are 12 modules included to start, including water procurement, navigation, plant ID, tracking, fire building, and several other topics. Once you've completed the course, you'll receive more advanced directives in your Monthly Adventure Challenges that replicate real-world scenarios.

Monthly Adventure Challenges

The Monthly Adventure Challenges are designed to push your limits and test your skills in real-world outdoor settings. Each challenge is customized to your skill and fitness level, ensuring they are both challenging and achievable. To start, challenges will be less intensive as you progress through the skills course (the first 12 weeks). After completion, your monthly challenges will become slightly more involved. Examples of challenges may include orienteering/land navigation courses that require a map and compass, an endurance hike or snowshoeing that tests your stamina through rugged terrain, or other survival scenarios requiring you to practice what you've learned and test your physical ability to handle what's thrown at you.

Monitoring & Support

You will have 24/7 access to support and communication through our dedicated app (powered by MyPTHub). Whether you have a question, need advice, or want to schedule a session, we are always available to assist you.

The app provides detailed tracking of your fitness progress, skill mastery, habits, and overall development. We use metrics and regular assessments to ensure you are continually improving and on track to achieve your goals. It is highly recommended to have a fitness/HR tracker (Fitbit, Garmin, etc) while in the program for more accurate monitoring. 

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is this program?

All WTX programs are simply month-to-month. We don't require any contracts or start-up fees. However, seeing substantial results in less than 3 months is rare, so we do ask that you consider the time investment needed to achieve your goals.

How do the in-person sessions work?

These one-hour sessions focus on personalized training, skill practice, and real-time feedback. We'll meet at pre-determined outdoor locations to maximize the relevance and impact of your training.
You'll need comfortable outdoor/workout gear, a water bottle, and any specific equipment we discuss beforehand.

How do the online sessions work?

Online sessions are 30 minutes and are conducted via video call (Zoom) and include progress reviews, Q&A, and personalized guidance addressing workouts, nutrition, and any other concerns you have (sleep, supplements, how to walk barefoot, you name it). If you want to make a change, the app has Habit Tracking included and all of that can be fine-tuned during the coaching calls.
For online-only clients, 2 of the 4 sessions can be workout sessions, if you choose.

How does the online-only plan work?

Everything is exactly the same as the other plans, with the exception of no in-person training. We're committed to reaching your goals as much as you are, but driving from Wyoming to Kentucky for a one-hour session isn't exactly viable. 
You'll receive the same personalized coaching and support, ensuring you stay on track no matter where you are.

Why do I have to apply to join this program?

We require an application process to ensure that each participant is a good fit for the Outdoor Performance Training program, as it's designed for individuals who are committed to taking their outdoor skills and fitness to the next level.

Our goal is to offer a high-quality, immersive experience that truly transforms your outdoor capabilities, and the application process helps us achieve this. There are only 11 spaces available, as that ensures each participant receives the utmost attention, personalized programming, and support they need to achieve their goals effectively.

What is the app like? Is it easy to navigate?

Your workout and nutrition programming will be delivered via the MyPTHub app straight to your phone (or desktop account- the wtxfitness.com website has a LOGIN button on the top right). It is extremely intuitive and simple to use. 
You will have access to message the instructor as needed through the app as well for continuous support.

Can I see more of what's included in the Wilderness Skills portion?

Absolutely. The 12-week foundational course is also offered by itself as one of our online courses, but the course fee ($189) is waived as it is an integral part of this program. You can look at the module list and what is included HERE.
